UTM Link Validator

Check a UTM link for missing, duplicate or malformed tracking parameters

How to Use UTM Validator

Paste a UTM tracking link before you launch a campaign to catch common mistakes.

Step 1:Paste your UTM tracking link into the field above.
Step 2:Click Validate Link.
Step 3:Fix any flagged issues before sharing the link in your campaign.

What Makes a UTM Link Valid?

A single typo in a UTM parameter — a missing tag, an inconsistent capital letter, or a stray space — is enough to fragment your Google Analytics reports into duplicate, uncombinable rows. Because tracking platforms treat 'Summer_Sale' and 'summer_sale' as two different campaigns, a link that looks fine to the eye can silently split your data and undercount a campaign's real performance. Validating a link before it goes live catches these mistakes while they are still cheap to fix.

Our free UTM validator checks a link against the rules that trip up most marketing teams: are utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign all present, is casing consistent across parameter values, are there stray spaces that should be hyphens or underscores, and is any tag duplicated in the query string. Paste your link, click Validate, and fix any flagged issues before you put the URL into an ad, an email, or a QR code — all checking happens locally in your browser, with nothing sent to a server.
